Esseco Potassium Metabisulfite KG.1 is a white crystalline powder product, with a characteristic odor of sulfur dioxide. This antibacterial antioxidant is an indispensable additive in oenology for its multiple functions.

Main functions:

• Polyphenol solubilizer
• Antimicrobial against unwanted microflora

Each gram of metabisulphite develops approximately 0.56 grams of SO2. According to EC regulation 1439/99, Annex V, the limits expressed as total SO2 are as follows:

• 160 mg/l for red wines
• 210 mg/l for white and rosé wines
• 235 mg/l for sparkling wines
